Medihoney Antibacterial Wound Gel 25g
Medihoney Antibacterial Wound Gel can be used on cuts, grazes, abrasions and burns. It also can be used throughout the healing process in pressure, venous, and diabetic leg and foot ulcers and surgical wounds.
Provides antibacterial protection.
Effective against a variety of bacteria including antibiotic resistant bacteria such as MRSA and VRE.
Assists healing through a moist wound healing environment.
Assists in the removal of dead tissue i.e.: wound cleaning.
The non-adherent nature of the wound gel means that dressing changes are less traumatic and painful.
Medihoney Wound Gel is a natural product.
Antibacterial Wound Gel has been specially formulated with natural waxes and oils to provide a high viscosity gel that is easy to apply.
Directions for Use: Apply liberally, either directly to the wound or via a gauze dressing. This ensures the wound fluid does not excessively dilute the antibacterial effects of the product. Gauze dressings should be non-adherent and can be supported by additional dressings dependent on wound fluid levels. You can also protect the area surrounding the wound or ulcer with Medihoney Barrier Cream.
How frequently should dressings be changed? This depends on the level of exudate in the wound. Daily or twice daily changes may be necessary during the initial stages of treatment. As fluid levels decrease fewer dressing changes are necessary. At this stage dressings can be left for up to 3 days. If you are still unsure always check with your district nurse or other health professional.
